When celebs get married, sometimes the woman does not want to change her last name because it’s recognizable, example: Katie Holmes. Others put a hyphen in it, example: Courteney Cox-Arquette. And sometimes, they scrap their maiden name altogether, example: Ashlee Wentz.

But in the case of Beyonce and Jay-Z, they are shaking things up a bit… As both of them are taking each others last names while keeping their own.

PerezHilton reports, “They want to keep Knowles because Bey’s parents didn’t have any sons and they’re keen to keep the name going strong, especially if they don’t produce any sprogs themselves. Or if they end up just having girls.”
